the US Army and other NATO members refused the Galtlas MS so the KHI begun the Production of a more flexible mobile suit the GPMS (General Purpose MS) after a few months of trials US and many other nations bought the "Big Jim" in massive quantities and many sub-Variant where made to satsfy different requirements
